A Rich Merchant And His Neighbour

                Long long ago there lived a rich merchant in a village. Sometimes he would have to go abroad on business. (He often would go abroad on business). Once he kept all his valuables in an iron safe and left it with his neighbour. A few days later he returned and demanded his safe from his neighbour. To his utter surprise, the neighbour informed him that the rats had eaten up the iron safe. The merchant realized his trickery and remained silent. He was waiting for a chance. But he had not to wait for a long time for the chance. Once the neighbour said to the merchant, “Please take my son with you to take bath in the river.” Then and there the merchant agreed. He hid the child in a secret place. He returned home and said to the neighbour, “ A kite has carried away your child,” The dishonest neighbour realized everything and gave him back his iron safe and got back his son.

Moral: Tit for tat.
