A Rainy Day

A Rainy day is welcomed by all in summer. It gives relief from heat. After a heavy shower of rain, the weather becomes cool.
I remember a rainy day. It was in the middle of June (It was a hot day in June). Our summer vacation was just over. I was walking to school. It was unbearable heat outside. I began to sweat. I saw a patch of dark cloud in the north. Soon the sky became cloudy. A cool breeze began to blow when I was only mid way (half-way). It began to drizzle. Soon it started raining heavily. It poured and poured. I ran to a nearby shop for shelter without delay. I stood under the shade of the shop. Soon the rush of rain water flooded the whole area. All the roads were flooded with water. Traffic came to a halt. Buses and cars came to a standstill. People had to walk through the flooded roads. I went to school drenched to the skin. The Headmaster declared the day a rainy day.
