Leisure
words: 136

There is a proverb “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” This is very true. Besides, man is not a machine. He cannot work at a stretch for a long time. Constant work tells upon the body and mind of man. It brings boredom. Leisure releases man from monotony of toil and relieves him from the worries of duty. Fatigued nerves and muscles of human body get refreshed when they are at rest. Here lies the value of leisure. We can resume our work with fresh vigour and energy after taking a little rest. Leisure thus increases our efficiency of work. Leisure, does not, however, mean total free from occupation. So work should be followed by play or some kind of pastime. In fact, leisure is compliment to and reward of work.
