Sub: Unhealthy food-items sold in and around schools

Sir,

      Through the columns of your esteemed daily I venture to my views about the sale of unhealthy food items in and around schools.

          Nowadays it has become a fashion that the vendors sell jhalmuri, ice cream, cut fruits, etc to many of the students on the roads in and around schools. Apart from unhealthy food items, coloured drinks are sold during the summer. The colour used in those drinks and ice creams are not of approved food grade and may have serious consequences. Too much addiction to these unhealthy food items results in a number of ailments. 

       I, therefore, request you to write an editorial on this issue to draw the attention of the higher ups for an early redress.
