Twelve Fools

Long long ago there lived twelve men in a village. They were very foolish. There was a great friendship among them. They did everything jointly. Once they decided to go on a tour. They set out from home very early in the morning. They crossed a river on the way. They reached the other side of the river. After crossing the river they wanted to count their heads to be sure whether all of them reached there or not. One of them began to count. But he found only eleven as he did not count himself. He cried aloud, “One of us drowned in the river.” Then each of them counted. While counting, each excluded himself and counted eleven. All of them were very much nervous. They became very sorry for their missing friend.
A traveller stood there to watch their activities. He was very clever. He came forward and said, ‘Well, my friends, I can solve your problem and bring back your missing friend. He said to them, “Stand in a line.” The foolish friends were very happy and stood in a line. The traveller counted from one to twelve by giving each a blow. The foolish friends were very much happy to get back their lost friend. They did not mind the blow. They thanked the traveller in gratitude and left the place with a feeling of joy.
Moral: A fool makes a simple thing a horrible one while a wise man makes a most difficult job/thing simpler.
