The game of football has now become very popular game in India (in our country). It is not an Indian game. It is the national game of England. Now-a-days almost every school and college has a football team. It is an outdoor game. Football is played in an open field (on a level ground). It is played with a leather ball between two parties. In each party there are eleven players. (Each party has eleven players). The ground (the field) is 120 yards long and 60 yards broad.
It is divided into two halves. There is one goal post on each side. Each has a crossbar over it. It is twenty feet long and eight feet high. Each player is to play in a particular place. The goal-keeper guards the goal post. There is a referee who regulates the game. Football is a very interesting and healthy game. It is a healthy exercise. It makes the players strong and energetic. It teaches the players discipline and obedience.
