A Rich man and his Parrot

Once upon a time, there lived a rich man who had a parrot. The bird was well-trained. It could speak whenever a guest came, it urged the servants to serve tea to him. It exchanged a few words of greeting with the guest. The rich man kept the bird in a cage and took great care of it. He loved it very much. One day the rich man was sent to jail for an offence (US- offense). After a year he was set free and returned home. He said to the parrot, “I suffered a lot for a year in prison. How do you feel about my freedom?”
The parrot said in reply, “I have been in the cage for a few years. I have got no experience of freedom.” The rich man felt sorry for the imprisoned bird and set it free.
Moral: A free life is better than an imprisoned life.
