Traffic jam in Kolkata

To

 Sub: Traffic jam in Kolkata

Sir,

I would like to draw the attention of the authorities concerned to the difficulties caused by traffic jams in Kolkata through your popular daily. Nobody in a bus or a car knows when he will reach home or his office. The causes are many. The hawkers occupy the footpaths and force people to walk on the roads. The roads become crowded. The cars are parked here and there beside the roads. The buses stop at any point to pick up the passengers. The rickshaws ply on the main roads. They hinder the flow of the traffic. People avoid the zebra lines while crossing the roads.

I, therefore, request you to write an editorial on this issue to draw the attention of the authorities concerned for an early redress.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,

Rajat Kumar
