A Miser’s Wealth

                      Long long ago, there was a miser in a village. He earned a lot of money but lived like a poor man. He was always afraid of thieves. He thought that the thieves would take away his wealth. He made a plan. He spent all his money to buy a lump of gold. He dug a hole in the ground and kept the gold there. He became free from fear of the thieves. His daily routine was to go there to see his gold. He was very happy with his wealth. One day his servant found it. He was greedy. He decided to steal it. One night while his master was sleeping, he went there and dug the ground. He took the gold and went away. The next day the miser went there to see his wealth but he found no gold. He realized that it was stolen. He started crying. His neighbours came and wanted to know the reason for his crying. He informed them of the matter. His neighbours said to him, “You are responsible for your misfortune. You stored much wealth but never spent anything for yourself. So the wealth was not yours. Don’t cry at all. Work hard again for earning a lot and amass to be stolen by the thieves. So saying his neighbours went away.

Moral: Unused wealth is always useless.
