A Fox without a tail

Once there was a very clever fox in a jungle. One day he became very hungry. He entered a farmer’s house for stealing a hen. He was caught. The farmer did not kill him. He cut off his tail and let him go. The tail-less fox looked very strange. He was very sad and ashamed. But the fox was cunning. He thought and thought. Finally, he made a plan to save himself from disgrace. He called a meeting of the foxes. He said to them, “I have invited you to tell about a very important discovery of mine. There is no use of carrying a tail in our life. It is an unnecessary load and an extra burden for us. So I have cut off my tail. I feel myself lighter, happier and more comfortable than before. Now I can run faster than before. So you must cut off your tails.” The foxes listened to the speaker with great attention. Many of the foxes were elated. They said, “You are right. We shall cut off tails without delay.”
At that time (after a short time) an old fox stood up and broke the silence. He shouted in anger, “Do not follow this rogue. He has lost the chance of regaining his tail. Now, he looks strange. He wants the others (to) look like him.” The foxes in the meeting found out the truth and became very angry with the cunning fox. They drove him away from the jungle. The fox fled away in fear to save his life.
Moral: All the people cannot be befooled all the time.
