or
A cunning Farmer and a clever Lawyer
words: 182
Long long ago there was a farmer. Once he lost his hen. The hen was taken away by a dog. The farmer went to the lawyer who lived near his house. The farmer said to the lawyer “Good morning Sir, I have come to you for a consultation about a case.” The lawyer asked, “What is it about?” The farmer said to him, “My hen has been carried off by a neighbour’s dog. He is rich. Please tell me how much he will be fined if I file a case against him in court. The lawyer said in reply, “One thousand.” The clever farmer said, “Pay me one thousand rupees as it is your own dog that carried off my hen.” The lawyer said, “ I shall gladly pay you one thousand rupees for your hen but first pay me two thousand rupees for consultation. It is not unknown to you that a lawyer doesn’t advise without fees.
