A dishonest shop-keeper

Once upon a time there was a dishonest shop-keeper. He used to give every customer less goods than its normal weight. One day a clever customer decided to pay him back in his own coin. He went to the shop and wanted a kilo of sugar. The shop-keeper gave him less sugar in weight as usual. The customer wanted to know the reason for giving him goods less in weight. The shopkeeper said in reply, “Friend, why are you so angry? I have given you goods of underweight as you will have to carry fewer loads.” The clever customer remained silent for a while and paid him less than his dues. The shop-keeper asked, “Why have you paid me less than my dues.” The customer replied, I have paid you less because you will have to count less.” Thus the dishonest shopkeeper was paid back his own coin and thus he was taught a good lesson.
Moral: A dishonest man is worthy of punishment.
