A Blue Jackal

Once upon a time, there lived a Jackal in a forest. One night he became very hungry. He went out in search of food. He entered a washerman’s house to steal food. While running away with some food, he suddenly fell into the washerman’s tub full of blue water. Somehow he got out of the tub but he was dyed blue. The dogs of the village saw and chased him. The fox ran as fast as he could. At last he returned to the forest. No animal (none of the animals) could recognise the blue-coloured jackal. Rather all got frightened (Rather all the animals were afraid of him) and ran away in (with) fear. The jackal noticed it. He made a plan to cheat them.
One day the jackal called the beasts and said, “Well friends, do not be afraid of me. God has sent me to be your king and (to) rule the forest as a King. So, I am your king now. All the animals believed his word and made him their king.
In the long run, the fox became very proud and began to hate the beasts and even his own kinsfolk. At this, the other jackals became very angry. They tried to find out the secret of the king and wanted to teach him a good lesson. At night they began to howl loudly. By nature, the blue jackal also howled at the top of his voice. All the animals (beasts) at once could know that their king was only a jackal. The angry beasts fell on the blue jackal and tore him to pieces. The blue jackal brought about his ruin by insulting his own kinsfolk.
Moral: Pride must have a fall.
