An Ideal Teacher and an Ideal Student

An ideal teacher is an asset to the society. He turns out students who are the future citizens of a country. Thus he does good to the society. An ideal teacher has a good command of the subject which he teaches his students. He teaches it in such a way that all the students, meritorious or ordinary can understand him fully. He never parades his knowledge to his students. He comes to school and college just in time and thereby teaches his pupils punctuality. He loves his students and abides by the rules and regulation of the institution. An ideal teacher not only imparts literary education but also moulds the character of his students.
There was a time when a teacher did not think of himself. The society met his essential needs. His concern was to acquire more and more knowledge and impart it to his students. He moulded the character of his student by force of character. Consequently he enjoyed the high social status. But to-day social conditions have changed and so have changed the standards of moral values. Today success of person is measured by the salary he draws and the perks he enjoys. In this respect of a teacher today is a failure and teaching has become now a devalued profession.
An ideal teacher wants victory everywhere. His life is a dedicated one. He wants the welfare of his students. He must win the heart of his disciples by love, tolerance and goodness. He is a friend, a philosopher and a guide.
An ideal student devotes most of his time to his studies and tries to acquire knowledge. He gets up very early in the morning, goes to school or college regularly in time and listens to his teachers. He cultivates noble qualities like honesty, perseverance, humility (modesty) and politeness. He respects his parents, superior and teachers. He never takes an active part in politics.
