A Journey by Train

words: 167
A journey by train is always a pleasant thrill. During the last summer vacation I was going to Barasat to attend my cousin’s marriage ceremony. I went there with my parents by train from Sealdah station. We somehow managed our seats by a window in the compartment. The guard gave the signal and the train moved on slowly at first and soon it picked up speed. I looked out of the window and enjoyed the delight scene of the villages.
I saw carts loaded with goods moving along the village roads. The cowboys were grazing their cows. The grown-ups were busy in the fields. Huts, posts, fields, towns and stations were passing one after and another. Inside the train the hawkers were selling their wars. Some passengers were playing at cards and some were napping or gossiping. I was reading a newspaper. (I was absorbed in reading a newspaper). My uncle was waiting at the station to receive us. We took a taxi and reached his house.
